The Instagram website has had a few redesigns in its time, mainly focusing on improving the UX side of things from the now Facebook-owned company. Few and far between have been all out redesigns, largely because designers understand that Instagram is an app-first product on time spent on the site is less spent on the app. That hasn’t stopped a few designers though, most notably, Ramzi Shatara‘s attempt, which is a stunning take on the Instagram web concept.
Introducing elements from the mobile app, like the menu navigation, Ramzi has completely redesigned the Instagram web experience to be a place people actually spend time on, viewing, liking and searching for photos within the site. Currently, searching can only be done via a third-party site utilising the Instagram API, so this would be a welcome addition along with follow suggestions and trending photos. All in all, a great concept for a much-used app.
