Google’s design is timeless, with no real change to their homepage since their inception. Adding in the Google bar and flattening the logo has only really been the major changes since bringing in the familiar format of logo, search and tools in 1997. Google’s own blog details quite well these recent changes and the reasons behind them, and for the most part, the changes of have been good.
RJ, an Indian web and UI/UX designer, has come up with a radically different concept that shifts more towards Bing’s version of search than Google’s. Out goes tha white background, and in comes an incredibly vivid purple tones with subtle imagery in the background. Playing more on iconography and visual impact, RJ’s vision is a brave attempt at recreating the famous Google homepage.
